Other Case Designs:
Features are the same as the original CC version, except that the M3 case screws can now sink into the top plate (and therefore be shorter). Both top and bottom case parts are marked "CC3D" to distinguish them from the other version.
Hardware requirements:
- for mounting with the clip:
- M3x8 hex socket head screws plus standard M3 nuts (can be metal or nylon) for the case
- M3x8 countersunk hex socket head screws plus standard M3 nuts for the base clip (when your base plate is up to 2mm thick)
- for mounting without the clip or when bolting right through the clip and a base plate:
- M3 hex socket head screws (metal or nylon) - calculate required length using this data:
- the distance from the bottom of the counter bore in the top case to the bottom face of the case is 8.3mm
- the thickness of the base clip is 2.6mm
- add the thickness of your base plate
- a standard M3 nut is 2.4mm high
- EXAMPLE: for a 2mm base plate, bolting right through the case and the clip -> 8.3+2.6+2.0+2.4=15.3mm (nearest standard length M3 screw is M3x16)
Note that is you decide to use a nylock nut you'll need a slightly longer screw.

Order from Shapeways:
As before, the cases ( CC3D & CC ) are available to order online from Shapeways (with zero added profit).
Remember:
- the original CC case and the CC3D case are different - only the base clip is common to the two versions.
- if you want to move one board between several frames you can order multiple base clips.
- the only recommended material is "White Strong and Flexible" or it's colored variants. The polished version has not been tried - theoretically it should work but the fit will be a tiny bit looser since the polishing process removes some material.
- you can order the white version and dye it at home using Rit/Dylon clothing dye.
- the white version gets very grubby very quickly, since the surface is slightly rough and it's like a magnet for dirt!
- For more information see the original thread on the forums
- The right-angle case requires modification to your CC3D board, only attempt if you're comfortable with a soldering iron.
